We believe the Bible includes  the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments. It is the inspired, inerrant, and infallible Word of God. Scripture was written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit and is without error in all that it affirms. The Bible is the supreme and final authority in all matters of faith and practice. It is sufficient for salvation, sound doctrine, and the ordering of the Christian life.

We believe Scripture must be interpreted carefully, prayerfully, and in community — with attention to its original languages, historical context, and literary genre — and that the Holy Spirit illuminates its meaning to the hearts of believers.

We believe in one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal, co-eternal, and co-substantial — one in essence, distinct in person. God is infinite, sovereign, holy, loving, just, and merciful. He is the Creator and Sustainer of all things, transcendent above His creation and yet intimately present within it.

God is not an abstract force or distant deity but a personal Being who speaks, acts, loves, and redeems. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever — unchanging in His character, unfailing in His purposes, and unwavering in His covenant love toward His people.

We believe that Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, fully divine and fully human, born of the virgin Mary through the miraculous work of the Holy Spirit. He lived a sinless life, performed signs and wonders, and died on the cross as the substitutionary atonement for the sins of all who believe. He was bodily resurrected from the dead on the third day, ascended to the right hand of the Father, and will return in glory to judge the living and the dead.

We believe that Jesus Christ is the only Savior, the only mediator between God and humanity, and the only name under heaven by which people must be saved. His death satisfied the righteous wrath of God against sin. His resurrection secured the hope of eternal life for all who trust in Him. His present intercession sustains His people. His coming return is the living hope of the church.

We believe the Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity, fully God, co-equal with the Father and the Son. He was active in creation, spoke through the prophets, and came in fullness at Pentecost to indwell and empower the church. The Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin, regenerates the hearts of those who believe, and dwells permanently within every true believer.

The Holy Spirit illuminates Scripture, produces fruit in the lives of believers and equips the church for ministry. He glorifies Christ, not Himself, and works to conform believers to the image of Jesus.

We believe God created human beings — male and female — in His own image (imago Dei), with inherent dignity, worth, and purpose. Humanity was created for relationship with God and for stewardship of His creation. We were made good.

We believe that through the disobedience of Adam and Eve, sin entered the world and corrupted the whole of human nature. Every person born since bears the weight of this fallen nature — spiritually dead, morally corrupted, and separated from God. This condition is not merely behavioral but ontological:  by nature, we are in need of rescue we cannot provide for ourselves. Sin affects every dimension of human life — mind, will, emotion, and relationship.

We believe that salvation is the gracious, undeserved gift of God, received through faith alone in Jesus Christ alone. It cannot be earned, inherited, or achieved by human effort or moral performance. God, who is rich in mercy, made a way for sinful humanity to be reconciled to Himself through the death and resurrection of His Son.

Salvation includes: 

 Justification — being declared righteous before God through the imputed righteousness of Christ

 Sanctification — the ongoing work of the Spirit conforming believers to the image of Christ, and 

Glorification —  the final and complete redemption of body and soul in the resurrection. Salvation is not merely a past event but an ongoing reality and a future promise.

We believe that all who truly repent of their sin and place their faith in Jesus Christ are born again, adopted into the family of God, and sealed by the Holy Spirit as a guarantee of their eternal inheritance.

We believe in the one holy, catholic (universal), and apostolic church — the body of Christ composed of all true believers across every nation, tribe, tongue and generation. The Christian universal church finds its local expression in gathered communities of believers who worship together, teach Scripture, celebrate the ordinances, pursue holiness, and bear witness to the gospel in the world.

We believe the local church is God’s primary instrument for the proclamation of the gospel, the making of disciples, and the demonstration of His kingdom on earth. The church is not a building or an institution but a living community — called out of the world and sent back into it as ambassadors of reconciliation.

Good Co. exists to strengthen the leaders who serve these local communities. We are not a church. We are for the church — for those who carry the weight of leading it.

We believe Jesus Christ instituted two ordinances for the church: Baptism and the Lord’s Supper (Communion). These are not means of salvation but visible signs of an inward grace — enacted proclamations of the gospel that the church observes in obedience to Christ’s command.

Baptism is the public declaration of faith in Jesus Christ and identification with His death, burial, and resurrection. The Lord’s Supper is a sacred remembrance of Christ’s sacrifice, a proclamation of His death until He comes, and a communal act of covenant renewal among believers.

Good Co. affirms both ordinances and welcomes leaders from traditions that differ on their mode and meaning, recognizing these as secondary matters on which faithful Christians have long disagreed.

We believe in the personal, physical, and visible return of Jesus Christ to earth. At His return, the dead will be raised — believers to eternal life in the presence of God, and unbelievers to eternal separation from God in conscious judgment. We believe in the resurrection of the body, the reality of heaven and hell, and the final renewal of all things under the lordship of Christ.

We believe these are not peripheral doctrines but the very horizon toward which all of history moves. The hope of Christ’s return is not escapism but the fuel of faithful, courageous, present-tense ministry. Because He is coming, what we do now matters eternally.

We believe that all who confess Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, affirm the authority of Scripture, and hold to the historic Christian faith are brothers and sisters in the body of Christ — regardless of denomination, worship style, or secondary doctrinal distinctives.

Good Co. is committed to the unity of the church across denominational lines. We hold our primary convictions  with full conviction. We hold secondary matters with humility, charity, and a genuine commitment to learn from traditions different from our own.

We believe the gospel is most powerfully proclaimed when the church is visibly, practically united. Good Co. exists, in part, to model that unity among those who lead.

*A Note on Primary & Secondary Matters
Good Co. distinguishes between primary convictions — those essential to orthodox Christian faith, clearly articulated above — and secondary matters on which faithful, Bible-believing Christians have long and charitably disagreed. Primary matters include the authority of Scripture, the Trinity, the person and work of Christ, salvation by grace through faith, and the resurrection. Secondary matters include church governance, baptism mode, eschatological timelines, and worship practice.

Good Co. requires agreement on primary matters. On secondary matters, we create space for honest, respectful conversation across traditions — believing that iron sharpens iron, and that the church is stronger when its leaders know how to disagree well.
